Just picked up my e92 M3 DCT. I traded my 911 C4S for it (needed something just as fast but with a back seat). I thought I would miss my Porsche more but man, this car is making me forget all about it. Everything is as I expected it to be - some things (e.g., the DCT) are even better.

My 2004 M3 with 44K also has a really clunky differential. VERY careful application of the clutch and gas (at all times) will eliminate this sound. But for example, say you are pulling out of a side road onto a main highway. You are on a slight hill facing upward before you pull out. You ease out the clutch and start moving and suddenly a hidden car comes flying down the highway forcing you to quickly abandon your plans to pull out. You mash in the clutch with one foot and hit the brakes with the other --> Clunkedy clunk goes the differential and driveshaft.

The JTD rear shock mounts are about as good as they get.

Absolutely love this car. I have a 95 M3 and it's everything I could ask for from a car. It has 150,000 miles on the motor and ran a PERFECT compression check less than a month ago. Not built for straight line but will still put more than a few cars at the drags to shame when you beat them drag racing a BMW. Only complaint is cost of upgrading power. Unless you piece together a forced induction system yourself, your lookin a huge money to buy a good kit. Still will probably never get rid of this car.

I'm not sure what to say on this one. My personal experience of this and the UUC EVO3 has been really poor. I'm not sure if I got a bad unit, or if it was improperly installed (I had it professionally installed) but it doesn't seem right. I have a friend with an 04 coupe just like mine, and his UUC EVO3/DSSR combo seems great. After trying his, it made me want to get it and I was disappointed after I did. Just my experience.

For some reason, when I got mine, the fitment was poor. I'm not sure how this could go wrong, but I had to go to Home Depot and have them cut the bolt shorter for me so it would screw in further. I was having trouble getting the car to start otherwise due to the clutch needing to be depressed in order to start the car. After the cut the bolt and it was installed, it was GREAT! Worth it for the time and money.
