Gents,
I get a lot of inquiries about Euro market parts, and apparently some of them are no longer available via the U.S. parts system. As such, I'm willing to make a one-time mass buy for hard-to-find items as a service to fellow members. I'm not doing this to turn a profit (though I will likely file paperwork to get some of the taxes back), and I have no business interests here of my own, so please don't ask me to "hook you up" later on an individual basis if you choose not to participate now. I went to my dealership this morning and got price quotes on some of the parts that I am regularly asked about. I'll give you exactly the same numbers the parts manager gave me. Further, when it comes time to ship, I'll ask only that you cover my expenses to get the items to you via USPS Priority Mail. All of the following items are for the ECE Market (Euro) E46 M3. WIDE ANGLE OUTSIDE MIRRORS (51167145267/8) are $82 (67€) each. As such, a complete set of these mirrors will cost $164. TRUNK-MOUNTED WARNING TRIANGLES (71601095457, 51718215277). The triangle, container and mounting bracket (mounts to the left side of your trunk) are $25 (20€). UNDER SEAT FIRST AID KITS (52108226449). The plastic case and medical insert are $40 (32€), however this does not include the seat mounting bracket. At present, the bracket (52108226450) no longer appears as a valid part number in the system. I'm looking into this. BLUETOOTH ULF MODULES (84216934552) are $579 (474€). For whatever reason, the latest version has historically been difficult to find in the U.S., and that is the only reason I mention it here. BLUETOOTH RETROFIT KITS (84640152501) for cars from March 2002 with telephone prewiring (option 640) are $700 (573€). Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail. I can only estimate those costs here, since we're talking about so many different items, but let's assume $6 minimum, and perhaps double that for multiple items. PayPal is probably the only payment method that makes any sense at the moment. My account details will be forwarded via PM, and I would ask that if you are using a credit card instead of a bank transfer, that you add 2-3% to your total so I don't have to take a loss on account of the associated PayPal fees. (On a basic $170 mirror order, they are charging more than $5 to process your payment if you pay by credit card.) Again, I'm simply passing along the German dealer price on these items, so there is no incentive for me to assemble a huge order. Should you wish to be included in any of this, please move quickly, as the order will go in early next week, and I have no immediate plans of placing another. PLEASE PM ME DIRECTLY WITH (A) WHAT YOU WISH TO ORDER, and (B) WHERE YOU WOULD LIKE IT SHIPPED UPON RECEIPT, as I may or may not be keeping much of an eye on this thread. Thanks. Q&A time ...
Q: Are the ECE market mirrors difficult to install? A: I've yet to change mine out (will be doing that along with the rest of you), but my understanding is that this is a very simple process. That said, THIS THREAD should help to shed some additional light on the process. Q: Are the ECE market mirrors powered/heated in the same fashion as the ones I currently have on my car? A: Yes, they are. They only differ in field-of-view and in the lack of warning dialogue (Objects in the rear view mirror ...). Q: Is this warning triangle the one that fits in the trunk lid tool tray? A: No. This is the M3-only warning triangle that is designed to mount (vertically) on the left side of the trunk. It is standard in all Euro-spec M3s. Like the M3-only tow hook eye, this part is too large to fit in the trunk lid tool tray. Q: Can you get special BMW Individual parts for me? A: Yes, though I only do this on a case-by-case basis due to the extra coordination required. Please PM me if you're serious about Individual parts, as that falls outside of the scope of this particular mass order. Q: Can you get CSL parts for me? Front wheels, maybe? A: No, I'm sorry that I can't. Nice try, though. We'll likely be adding to this as necessary. Stay tuned. Chief Last edited by Army Chief; Sat, Jan-28-2006 at 06:07:49 PM.. |

Are there any shots of what the ECE mirrors look like whe nyou're sitting in the driver or passenger side compared to what the stock mirrors look like? I'd just like to know if it would be a great safety feature for the money.

Yes. In fact, there is a current thead here on the boards on this, and that is what started all of the commotion in the first place.

Need some help, here ...
Guys, if you order Euro mirrors ($170) and pay via credit card, please add $5 to your payment, as PayPal is charging me more than this to process your card payment. I intentionally have avoided "padding" these prices, but I can't afford to take too many of these hits. It's adding up quickly, and I'm already in the hole. Thanks! Chief |

Too far gone.

Let me help:
1) No, he's not selling the folding mirrors, just the mirror glass that goes inside the housing. 2) If you don't have pre-wiring, go to www.bimmernav.com for retrofit kits. Advanced autovations and EIS may also be able to help you. |

Quote:
I can look up the pricing on the electrically folding mirrors, of course, but (a) these are going to prove much more complicated to order (and paint, and install, etc.) and (b) as far as I know, U.S. dealers can still get these parts for you. I'm primarily focusing here upon parts that have been hard to get from the U.S. dealer network for whatever reason. It isn't really my intention to put together a long list of items that your dealer would have no problem ordering. I'm more concerned with those things that you simply can't get unless you have someone in Europe pick them up on your behalf. As I said in the beginning, this is intended to be more of a service than a sale. ![]() Chief |
