Hello everyone! It's that time of year again, where the claws of winter begin to loosen its grasp, and the return of fair weather is upon us. Spring is right around the corner, and in celebration we've organized the 2006 M3F.c meet and greet! We hope that you will be able to join us for this special occassion. Brief Description:
The 2006 M3F.c M&G will consist of an initial meet at the Sheraton Hotel in Mahwah, NJ. From there the group will drive to Bear Mountain to enjoy the scenery and twisty roads. Following the morning drive is a BBQ and relax time. After the BBQ, a final run through the twisties may be held (up to you), whereupon people can head home.

Date and Time
The tentative date for the meet is March 25, 2006, which is a Saturday. If the weather turns foul, the meet will be held on the following Saturday. Time of the initial meet at the Sheraton Hotel is 9 AM. There is an option for those already in upstate NY to just go directly to Bear mountain, where we will meet at a pre-determined time. This section will be updated as soon as the itinerary and route have been finalized.

"The Sprint" Distance – 10.8 miles
• Sheraton Crossroads to Rt. 287 South to Exit 57:
Keep Right to "Skyline Drive / Ringwood"
• Re-group on Exit 57 exit ramp.

"Hill climb #1" Distance – 5.3 miles
• Skyline Drive into Ringwood
• Gas and breakfast stop at McD/Mobil in Ringwood.

"Alongside the Reservoir" Distance:
Take Skyline Drive
Right onto Greenwood Lake Turnpike
Right to Margaret King Ave
Left onto Sloatsburg Road
Sloatsburg Road turn into Sterling Mine Road
Keep left take 17 North

"Bear Mountain Twisties: Part 1" Distance – 15 miles
• 17North right turn to Seven Lakes Road (Bear Mountain State Park)
• At first circle: in at 6:00, out at 9:00: "Seven Lakes Drive"
• At second circle: in at 6:00, out at 12:00
• At third circle: in at 6:00, out at 12:00: "Rt. 6 East / North PIP / Bear Mountain"
• Take Exit 19: "Perkins Memorial Drive / Bear Mountain" HEAVY MERGE TO RIGHT!

"Hill climb #3 Distance – 2.8 miles
• Make first left: "Perkins Memorial Drive / Tower"
• Proceed down Perkins Memorial Drive
• Left at entrance to Perkins Memorial Drive
• at circle: in at 6:00, out at 11:00: "Bear Mountain Park / Bear Mountain Inn / Rt. 6 East / Bear Mountain Bridge / Rt. 9W North"

"BBQ meet at Bear Mountain - 12:00 Noon"
**This will be held next to the Bear Mountain Park offices and the Bear Mountain Inn. There is a merry-go-round next to the picnic tables. Use the Bear Mountain Inn as a point of reference for map directions. It will cost $6.00 per vehicle to park in the lot.

Ok, unfortunately there are no street addresses for the BBQ location, so the best I can do is give you the name of the Inn which is using the same parking lot we will be in. It is called the Bear Mountain Inn. If you do a search in Mapquest, Google Maps, or in a GPS as a POI, it should be located.

What to bring for the BBQ?
So far, the list includes the following: Hamburgers, sausages, mustard, ketchup, saurkraut, hotdogs, buns and bread, corn, watermelon, BBQ briquettes, ice, napkins, paper plates, plastic utensils, foil, and anything else you want to bring (including pies ).

A list has now been started with what people are intending to bring. Please add your names at the end of the thread, and I will update it here as time goes by.

***PLEASE NOTE*** We still need 3 disposable BBQ grills. These should go for about 10-15 dollars at Home Depot. Can someone please pick one up? I will try and purchase one also, which leaves one more. In order for the BBQ to be a success, we need these!!!

Meet rules and regulations
Instead of me trying to paraphrase what the moderators of the forum have already composed, I'll just post the following plus state that we should all exercise some common sense and restraint at the meet. As much as we all enjoy our vehicles and pushing them to their limits, this is not a track event. Let's try to keep things safe, and not draw any unwanted attention from the authorities. With that said, I'll just copy-paste this from the meet rules thread:

**News Flash: (07 March) Permits for the Bear Mountain BMW M3 meet have been issued!!!!

**Dry-run: completed successfully. Stay tuned for the final route plan and schedule.

We're going to have to iron out some of the communications and logistics issues. We should probably get a list of cell phone numbers for those going. If you happen to have FRS radios, bring them with you.
