How did he lose at all. Jump or not.

Those cars don't make much power. Even with a ECU upgrade.

This is their power specs:

Power: 125 kW , 168 HP SAE @ 6,000 rpm; 166 ft lb , 225 Nm @ 4,500 rpm

How the hell did the M3 lose? Come on. I don't buy an ECU upgrade. Maybe he has a big boost turbo or something.

Or the M3 was "very short" shifting.

Bad driver, he should have hit the gas sooner after the 3rd honk

I would think he should have caught up though?

He went on a 3, 2, 1, go count ("go" having it's own interval) rather than going on 1 which is fairly standard. Additionally, it looks like he started in 2nd below 4k RPM - which would cause him to have a less than desirable acceleration on the already late "go." For those reasons, I'm not sure we could speculate who would have won.

If I were him I would have started at 5k RPM in 2nd. Not trying to defend "the almighty M3," as the Volvo looked quick. But I would think it would AT LEAST be dead even.

i'm pretty sure that's an s60R, which is 300hp stock and probably close to that in torque stock. but i believe it's a twin turbo, so w/ a chip i bet they could be pretty formidable.
