Default Agency Power Strut Bar (Thank You Vivid Racing!)

After being the fortunate winner of Vivid Racing's Strut Bar Giveaway ( http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=71918 ), I figured it was the least I could do to post some pics and a review of the product.

Firstly, thank you again to Rob Rohn and Vivid Racing for choosing my picture and sending my the strut bar in the color of my choosing. Now, without further ado, the pics!

Pros:
Very Solid Construction
Cool aftermarket look
Easy to install
Wide variety of color combos (See link for options: http://www.agency-power.com/apm3strutbar.htm )

Cons:
Welds could be cleaner (though I'd rather have strength over beauty in a strut brace!)
///M strut tower covers don't fit

Bottom Line:
Well made strut bar with cool aftermarket look with a lot of color options. If you have an '01 or '02 without a brace, I'd definitely recommend taking a look at these. If you are looking to replace your OEM brace, this brace is not quite as clean looking due to lack of tower covers and the big welds, but definitely sets you apart from other M3s. If you are into contrasting colors, you could get some very cool setups from an aesthetic standpoint.

Where to get one?

Actually I haven't driven the car yet since I installed it, but I'm not expecting much performance difference from the stock bar. If I was upgrading from not having a bar at all, that would be a very different story. But in terms of an upgrade from a stock bar, it's more a matter of aesthetics than significant handling difference. In any case, once I have a chance to test that thoroughly I'll let you know if my expectations were incorrect

Looks awsome, congrats on winning that.
As for the welds being a con. Its really quite difficult to get a strong and clean line with those (a few of my friends are welders).
After all, Im sure we would all rather have a strong weld than a good looking one :nixweiss:

But looks awsome, Love the afermarket look it gives to the engine bay

Thanks! It's a pain to keep clean, but goes with the CB territory I guess.

Nice bar! Rough welds. It doesn't look like it will work on an '05. The new EGR valve location is right where the rear strut is located. I saw the same problem with the ACS bar. Too bad. I was looking to dump that ugly stock bar. Maybe I'll just cermachrome the OEM bar and tower braces instead.
