Just wondering if anyone else here runs their intake through their headlight. I love figuring out doing custom things myself and it worked! Granted I have no high beam on the drivers side but who needs em? It's a four inch tube that goes straight to the stock air-box for now, (still fiberglassing the housing for my cone filter). I'll try to put up some pics if you're interested. Warning: if you want to try this at home make sure you have a back up headlight ( You'll need one to pass inspection anyways ) Oh yeah, the "bubble" I'm making for the cone filter will open to **** air from the engine compartment on rainy days, haven't had a problem with rain on the stock setup either.

see to me this would be very nice.. but when u have ZKW's u really don't wanna cut the glass.. it looks so beautiful the way it is.. maybe run something from the grill on the E36 or lower opening or even brake duct? any way to get good airfrow is the best way though..

How many licks..

Kind of curious.. but why do this to a street car? How will you pass safety inspections?

The gains to be had from a ram air setup are virtually nil, unless your consistently above 100mph. Even then, the ram airbox needs to be positively sealed to hold pressure for any gains. Your time might be better spent finding the coolest air area or insulating the intake tract.

Nothing is truly "ram air" until it is at supersonic speeds (see: scramjets) until that point you will never be going fast enough to build a positive pressure or get any noticeable power gain. Its just a great marketing ploy.
