Default paffy GTS4 build

I've lost 2 M3s at HPDEs in last 10 months. I've contemplated quitting the hobby.

Instead I've decided to go W2W racing. Turns out I had almost all the necessary parts to build a race car left over. Naturally NASA GTS3/4 was my choice.

I'm really curious how much time gets dumped into project like this, so I'll try to keep track of hours as I progress, hence the journal.

I've picked up an almost bare shell to start with:

Found pretty major RACP issues, but nothing that can't be fixed:

Day 5,6&7, 16 hours total.

Harness thinning - what a quagmire. I've ended up separating everything, since I've started with unlabeled harness from a previous SMG car and ended up with a huge tangled mess several hours into it.

Not going to use:

Will go back into car:

Day 8, 3 hours:

Cleanup the shell where metal was removed, protect with primer.

Ooops, found another RACP crack on the right side, the whole RACP will need to be lifted 3-4mm back in its place on that side somehow

Since I'll be building a subframe support into the cage, I'll use it to align the RACP back using bolts.

I've used some aluminum tubing to protect threads in the RACP while drilling all the way through:

Success:

I've actually started designing the cage before I got the shell using a crashed car.

Took a bunch of measurements from the bottom of B pillar and spent several evenings in Solidworks.
