Default Dyno & Data Logging | Stock vs. Supersprint V1 Stepped Headers

Supersprint V1 Stepped Headers & V1 SPipe | Dyno Results & Data Logging
M3Forum member, AttaQ, got in touch with us since he was looking to start modifying his Silver Grey E46 M3. One of the realms he wanted to step into was finding the highest quality bolt-on parts in pulling out more horsepower and torque with great reliability. From our personal and professional experience, we recommended the Supersprint V1 Stepped Headers considering over the past decade, they have shown to be the absolute ultimate header. Many of the strongest S54B32s we have seen all sport this monstrous set of pipes.

Vehicle Information:
BMW E46 M3 6MT
130,000+ Miles
93 Octane
Supersprint V1 Stepped Headers
Supersprint V1 SPipe

Dyno Graphs:
whp vs wtq - SAE

whp vs AFR - SAE

whp vs Ignition - SAE

Quick Analysis and Notes:
The dyno truly depicts the massive power and torque gains throughout the whole power curve! Considering the philosophy behind the 'stepped' design, the low-end torque gain and huge top end gains is truly appreciated! When we dyno cars, we do our best to depict realistic and comparable results. To elaborate, we choose runs that have as controlled and similar data logs as possible. Notice how on the two runs that AFR and Ignition Targets are essentially identical. This shows that the DME isn't doing anything too funky to over or under estimate the benefits of the Supersprint headers. Sure there may be other confounding variables, but we really do our best to control all parameters the best we can.

In our opinion, these are some pretty stellar gains since there aren't many options out there that show benefits throughout the whole powerband. Stay tuned for another thread and analysis in the future with the Evolve Automotive Tune and IAT Relocation Kit.

Oh boy! Drool.

Thanks for the wealth of information!

And another 10-15 who with a tune. Incredible.

Is there a Superstint Factory option for resonators in their SSV1 Section 1 pipes? I hope that question isn't blasphemous, haha.

Thanks buddy! We'll be chatting very soon about some of your dyno data too

I can talk to Supersprint to see if they can build something custom for you. Otherwise, we can weld in a pair for you

No tune. Solely just a comparison between stock US headers and SS V1 Stepped headers.

Great numbers!! Oh man I can't wait to install mine!! I really need to get that section 1 from you Alex. I hope if I get cats it won't effect the power output that much.

Also I need to talk to you about obtaining that Evolve IAT relocation kit.

With this setup, you will not pass. However, once you layer on the Evolve tune (the box is also pictured and was also done afterwards), you will pass. They set the ECU to believe everything is OK and turn off the CEL, so an OBD2 check will show nothing wrong.

Also big thanks to DPE, and Alex and Chris for their work on this car and their advice and time they have spent (and continue to spend) on this project with me!
