Default Brian N's - 2005 Silver Grey ZCP Journal

Hey guys! Just a little intro. I have owned an E46 for good number of years now and have been around M3forum and other BMW related forums for a little while longer. This is my second E46 my first was a 2001 330i sedan which was my first car. I now own a 2005 Silver Grey ZCP that I bought about a year ago. For as long as I can remember liking cars my dream was to own an E46 M3. I remember seeing it at the LA Autoshow for the first time and I fell in love then with it's lines. To this day I have the same feeling about the way this car looks, feels, and sounds. I wanted to start a build thread to chart my progress and in the future reflect back on all the things I have done to this car.

Here are some final shots of my old 330i sedan I sold last year. Like I said earlier this was my very first car. I was very lucky to obtain a car of this caliber at such an early age, and if I look back now I probably didn't really deserve it. I love this sedan to death and it was very hard to part with it. Maybe one day it will come back to me.

My style for this car was mainly OEM+ and to work on the handling. It has a lot of little cosmetic mods that weren't on the 2001 330i such as the full ZHP exterior kit, retrofitted M3 mirrors, and to keep the oem theme some lightweight apex's. I did a full suspension bushings/control arms refresh along with AST 4100's and some vorshlag camber plates. I didn't have much plans for power since the steptronic transmisson can't hold that much power. I actually had it replaced under warranty once when I owned it. If I did not end up getting the M3 I probably would have went and done a 6 speed and S54 conversion. I have a build thread for this car on E46Fans if you wanted to find out more. I have to give a shout out to Sillie for helping me put on most of my mods, and just to bounce ideas off of.

For the longest time I thought you had an S54 swapped E46 sedan.. Too funny.

Your M3 is one of the nicest examples I've ever seen Absolutely perfect

Yeah your doing it near the end. I only lagged a year.

I knew you said you would like the sedan better. I miss that thing too.

Haha I think most people did or do. I really should have made this earlier and changed my sig. Thanks for the kind words!

Hey Brandon! Thanks! I actually joined the club a year ago. I really didn't like the Imola when I first got the car. Now I think it's ok. I think I still prefer black.

April 2013

I had Kaiv over to do a valve adjustment, plugs, and install my Turbotoy V3 hub. I can't say how much of an awesome guy he is. You can tell right away that he is a car nut and I am so happy I got in contact with him. If I can help it I wouldn't want any other set of hands touch my engine! Plus I hear Kevin fondling your engine gives an extra 10rwhp.

This is the only picture I have. I really should have taken some with the man in action. The Turbotoy V3 hub was put in as preventative maintenance my hub was perfectly fine.

May 2013

Oil Change preformed with assistance from Sillie. Just OEM TWS Edge Professional and filter. New airbox and cabin filter installed. No pics.

July 2013

I took my car over to MiniCorsa to have my subframe reinforced. I had them epoxy in HPF places, and while I was in there I replaced pretty much every rubber bushing and ball joint in the rear end. Just dropped the car off and picked it up so sadly no install pics.

Parts installed
HPF Plates Epoxied
Turner Camber Arms
New OEM Diff Cover
Diff Bushing
Updated RTAB
Vorshlag Limiters
AKG Subframe Bushings
Ball Joints
CSB
Guibo
Rubber Bushings
