Default WRX2BIMA's Supercharged 2006 Built M3

I just purchased my 2nd M3. Entirely because i wanted to move into a F/I car and it was either a well done e46 or a 996 turbo and i just fell in love with this car. Some here may hate on buying an already built car but i spent pletny of money on my last car and was not in a position anymore with a house now. I wanted to build a journal because there will be some changes still and i would love to keep track of the maintenance that is done. This car is a weekend/sunny day driver.

My last car:

The new car is a 2006 Jet Black/Black 6 MT loaded originally and i bought it with 32k on it. The car had two owners before me and the first owner owned it for a year. The other owner was rettags from this forum and he bought it in 2007 and has owned it since. The car put down 512 RWHP and 370 lb/ft.
Rettags kept a binder with every receipt, every service record and the service was done at local bmw dealership. I felt very comfortable buying from the PO and the transaction was smooth. Every mod was done pretty much perfect.

Mod list on the new car:

Performance
AA Gen 6 Stage 2 s/c with meth injection
Competition steering rack just installed at 31k miles
Custom gold foil wrapped heat shield
AP headers

AA clutch/flywheel
Turner Motorsports Sub Frame Re-enforcement

Exterior:
Varis full carbon cooling bonnet
Varis full carbon trunk
Varis half carbon under diffuser
Vorsteiner carbon GTS3 diffuser
Vorsteiner carbon roof (sunroof delete)
OEM Euro bumper with mesh grills/inserts

Driving the car home, i came in contact with my first F/I issue... the check engine light came on and PO had no idea why that would happen so i checked the codes when i got home and seems o2 sensors were picking up inefficiency codes in both banks..next day i called AA to get a background on the tuning of the car and it seems the last time the ECU was sent in was 2009 so new software was able to help me out of the inefficiency issue.

I put the car up and i seemed to figure out the problem... there was not any o2 sensors in the cat bungs...

only sensors i found were in the catless headers which seemed odd. So i figured i might as well get my ECU updated.

Just got the ECU back yesterday 7-16-13

and magically the CEL was off

Today at work i am going to check readiness codes to see if i can get the car to pass emissions now.

Very nice! I absolutely LOVE that center console. Never seen one wrapped that way!

Ryan - I can't wait to see this car in person. It was already well built by the PO, but I'm glad to see it's gone to a good home with you, and being treated properly right out of the gate when it comes to maintenace.

thanks simon.. next week you will.. hopefully it will cool down a little so you can see the real power. maintenance is going to be really important with this much the increased stresses i feel like so i might as well get it done right. i will do these items mostly myself after the initial.

update: i was concerned about a springy sound in the steering rack when i turned the wheel especially when moving slowly, but turns out the tc kline's springs make that sound?

Update: 7-19-13 - well after the car getting a complete go through.. tiny holes found in exhaust, fuel filter clamp was real loose, head gasket was leaking oil a little but i guess that is a common problem that one is able to just deal with. not bad for buying a used M
