Default flipm3: 2009 Melbourne Red E90 M3

Ever since I can remember, the BMW M3 has always been my absolute favorite vehicle. In grade school, I recall simply being infatuated with the boy-racer looks of the E30 M3. The E36 M3 eventually came out and I remember reading endless car magazine reviews about the precision of it's handling, yet daily drivability. There was a time when I almost got a used E36 M3, but our dealer told us to wait out for the E46 M3. After seeing the first official photos of a Phoenix Yellow and Laguna Seca Blue E46 M3, the order was quickly made even without test driving one. It was owning the E46 M3 that really made me appreciate the beauty and balance that BMW instills in the M3. A near perfect harmony between NA power, telepathic handling, and sexy good looks. I thought to myself that nothing could get any better than the E46 M3. Fast forward many years and the E90 M3 came out. I have always been a sucker for sedans. Upon first sight of the E90 M3, I was ecstatic to see that BMW decided to bring back a four-door M3. The E90 M3 was different though. BMW really implemented this mean looking bulldog stance to the car. Wider fenders than it's non-M counter part, bulging curves, meaty tires. Based off superficiality, I knew I had to have it. Hearing rumors that this might be the last NA M3 and being the NA nut that I am, I knew that I had to own this piece of BMW History.

Car History
In May of 2009, the order was made at our local BMW dealer. It was rather challenging to come to a decision on what color to get. Ultimately, I was torn between Alpine White and Melbourne Red. After sifting through endless photos and seeing these first hand, Melbourne Red was the choice. It was the subtle metallic flake and deep contrast, accentuating the curves of the E90 M3 that truly made this color stand out from the rest. My only worry was seeing how Melbourne Red would flow with the soon-to-be released LCI Tail Lights, in the end, it worked out rather well. Enjoying cars that are overall very simple, I decided to once again keep ordered options to a near minimum. I was not a fan of the leather in my E46 M3, so Speed Cloth was a must. I personally don't need all the fancy computerize gadgets, audio, and sunroof, so Premium and Technology Packages were crossed off the list. Being in a State that sees the extremes of nearly all seasons, heated seats kind of seemed like a must. What really did catch my interest though was the stellar technology of the BMW M DCT. Reading about the advanced progression in double clutch technology and drastic different acceleration performance, I decided to change it up a little bit and pull the trigger on the blistering fast DCT. After all options were made and the order was in, it was just a matter of many days of tracking my delivery progress until I finally got the call that the car was ready for delivery.

Haha...well, we'll see what happens. The car is just so much fun to drive!

I do have the Evolve Stage 1 Tune. I actually recently flashed it back to stock since I plan on doing some dyno runs comparing the stock and Evolve tune. It's just a matter of finding time to make it out to Dean's Performance for some fun runs.

When I throw the OE wheels/tires back on, you'll definitely be getting a ride!

I definitely have to order some new Michelin PSS soon since I'm still on the original PS2s from factory...they're a bit bald to say the least

Sorry for the lack of photos. I was a bit of a rush to clean up our E90 M3. The car was poorly prepped by my dealer several years ago. This was the first time it got any type of proper and real detail.
