Default Faking the Funk

I was driving in Queens today on the way to visit the parents. I was near Juniper Park and I saw a 7 Series with no trim on the rear except for:

You guessed it a ///M Badge. Why do people do this. Don't they no they look foolish to anyone who has a clue.

Maybe it was an M7.

Or maybe he was showing his respect for the M brand. Like when people wear their favorite athlete's Jersey. It's out of admiration. They're not trying to pass themselves as that athlete.

Atleast it was a 7 series, as misguided as it is, it's better than the 323's out there with the M badge. Makes me think, if you know enough about cars you would know that the car is not an M, and if you have no clue what an M is in the first place then you wouldn't care what the back says.
