It would cost way more than buying a comparable one in the US.

Here's the link to the car: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4054108.htm
But seriously what do you think I would have to spend to get the car to meet minimum requirements? |

£8k = $12.5k. Plus shipping (figure $2k minimum) plus conversion costs of at least $10k...that is IF you can legally do it. US cars are already cheaper.

headers and cats will cost you probably $4k alone. Remember you can't do this on your own and that is the majority of the cost of the project.

The problem is that you'll have to get a registered importer bring the car since it does not comply to US DOT and EPA standards. You'll need all the paperwork showing that modification has been done to meet US standards.
It'll be a lot of work. If you're trying to bring a M3 from Europe, might as well try for the CSL. ![]()

1. Headers
2. cats 3 front bumper with US SPEC reflectors (missing on non-NAM cars) 4 dash has to be converted over to Miles 5.Reprogram the DME and stored options on the car - various changes on this one 6.Different bulbs in the side markers 7.Side mirrors may not be US spec if they are the Euro 2 stage mirrors. 8.Rear fog light removal (might not be picked up, or unscrew the bulb) 9.Break light outer ring needs to be disabled (although you could get this one by, or maybe just programming) 10 There are a few other things i forget... Side note, you will not have the in-cabin trunk release, as that is NAM cars only.

The CSL is a little bit out of my price range, plus the $15K-$25K extra for the CSL could be put towards or saved to spend on mods like CSL Airbox, diffuser, front bumper, bootlid, shrick cams, etc.
