Is there a good place to find valuations for low mileage e36's? Mine is less than 20k miles.. What have you been seeing price wise? I don't want to let her go, but
Might have to stock e36 m3 convertible. Btw I'm new on the forum, if there is a place to ask info on selling an m3 let me know. Thanks!

^You are in the correct section, however just start your own thread since you and the OP are talking two totally opposite propositions.

I'd say don't start your own thread. It will be riddled with arguments over the value of the car in short order, and in the end, he'll be left with a bunch of opposing opinions, like all the "what's my pristine low mileage E36 M3 worth" threads. All the guys who bought their ratted out E36 for $7K argue that it's not worth anything, and all the guys who paid $15K for their car in 2005 still want E36's to be worth tons of money.

Have a look at comparable cars at www.enthusiastauto.com and price yours about 15% lower for starters. The right buyer will come to you, though it may take a while.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recalulating... Recalulating... Thread back on Route.

Did some reading over the weekend and wanted to confirm some of my findings.

Recommended Maintence Products:

Oil - Castrol Full Syn 5w30

Trans - ???

Fuel System Cleaner - Techron, or just striaght up new injectors/fuel filter?

Internal Engine Cleaner - NEVER!/Sea-Foam/Short OIC's
(Still Unclear Here, I guess this is case-by-case basis. I am sure a 136K, 13 Y/O Car has some build up, hopefully no sludge.)

Belts - ??? (I've always used Goodyear Gatorbacks)

Plugs - ??? (Always had good results with Bosch)

Diff - ??? (Redline?)

Grease - (I've used Lucas HD Wheel Bearing Grease with great results, however it is a bit thinner than what I am use to.)

Bulbs - I do not want HIDizzles, or any Raving going on inside the car. Just some high quality HALOGEN light pulgs. (Also, Bosch still making a OEM Style Headlight Housing?)

Anything else I am missing? Like transfer case oil? Lol.

Thank you gentlemen.

Once I get my hands on one of these cars, its game on. She will be a jack stand queen for a bit. Right now my plan is to tear it down, and go over as much as I can, refresh.

You can re-cover them if they're beyond repair, but if they are in moderate condition, then you can order a full repair kit from furnitureclinic.co.uk (I believe that's their site. They offer full kits, complete with a spray gun and all to do a full and proper re-color. If the leather is stretched, it can be shrunk again with heat from a heat gun or hair drier (much, much slower process). There's a video on YouTube that shows you how to do this.

Appreciate it! I read through the pissing contest between leathereique (sp???) and funitureclinic, Lol.

Only problem is, which kit do you get?!??

Plugs- Bosch are fine. I use NGK coppers and change them every spring.

Transmisson- Any good quality ATF will do fine. I like Mobil 1 for the transmisson.

Diff- the diff can be finicky with fluids and you may get some LSD clutch noise with some. I like Mobil 1, but it often doesn't have enough LSD additive to keep the LSD quiet. I add a little extra LSD additive. You can buy it at any auto parts store. Redline is ok. Royal Purple is garbage. Amsoil is probably the best stuff, but expensive and hard to find locally (hence my Mobil 1 preference, as I think it's a biter fluid than Redline).

Bulbs - 1st choice; Sylvania Silverstars. 2nd choice; Osram Nightbreakers. They're not cheap, but they're definitely better than anything else when it comes to output.

Well depending on what you want to do (front seats only, vs. whole interior) just get the correct size of their recolour kit. Braymond did his research on the subject, and FC has top notch stuff. The color is self-explanatory, especially if you end up with a black interior. I have dove, and I sent a sample of my leather to them for a custom match. Modena is marbled and you will not get an OE look with a single dye, the only (and most expensive option is a new leather cover, installed by a good upholstery shop.

It's not a pissing contest, by the way. I don't even find leatherique and FC comparable products to be honest.
