First, I would check to see if you have washer fluid in there. However, it should throw a light on the dash if you were low. Check under the hood where the connections are for the washer nozzles. One or both of the tubes may have come off.

The tank for the washer fluid is located infront of the passenger side wheel take a look at it the pump might have popped out.

Motor or kinked hose. The hose likes to kink where it makes the 180 degree bend by the starboard side hood hinge assembly. It has a very specific routing there in order to avoid kinks. I've added some of the corrugated wiring loom to the outside of it to keep it from making too sharp a bend when the hood is closed when I've had a troublesome one. Rather common BMW problem.. mebbe we should start a Class-Action-Lawsuit? Kidding..

remove passenger side plastic wheel well liner (?) and you will see the windshield wiper fluid reservoir and the pump. If you don't hear the pump running, then it's the pump.

The connector to my windshield washer pump was broke in half when I got my M. I ordered the replacement connectors and wires and it worked. Same thing for my outside air temp sensor, except the whole sensor was missing. Pretty easy to fix. Now I just need to fix the weak stream on the driverside sprayer.
