Unhappy Broken side view mirror!?!?!

Just last night while in front of a chinese resturant, my idiot friend ran into my side mirror and broke it off. However only the clips are broken, and it only snapped off (mirror is fine but "clips" dont hold the mirror) and i used tape as a temporary adhesive. Do any of you know how much the side panel would cost with installation?

I don't think you can get the peices seperatly.

The entire mirror housing with base is around $500 at a dealer.

Seen them online for $350.

Over here you can get the clips, retainers and mirrors as separate parts... sounds like you need a retainer kit... but, based on what Sirius say you may have no luck.

If you can get the retainers then the mirrors just 'snap' in... you gotta give them a helluva push but they will go in.

Last time i was waxing the car and, i was really getting carried away on the door.

anyhowz i bent down and smacked my head right in2 the wing mirror which just popped off. THE thing was a nightmare 2 put back on. I was pushing with my wholebody weight 2 get the mirror back on it just wouldn't go. In the end i used a screwdriver to increase the gap within the retainer a little and the mirror just slid on.

"You were REALLY getting your wax on. That's crazy."

I know, the worst bit was i spent like the whole day cleaning the car and i was on the last part, the drivers door. when i hit the mirror.

a) i was in pain , my head was hurting
b) i was angry because i smacked it off
c) i was upset because i just took the wing mirror of my M3.
d) i was perplexed as how the hell do you put the wingmirror back on .

definatley one of the funnier stories of owning a M3.

Mine's come off too... it's as hard as a horney dude to get back on, you almost have to push it that hard that you think you're going to break something!
