Default BMW shut off while driving

Hey guys. I recently purchased an e46 m3 2004 and for some odd reason the car shut off on me 3 times already while I was actually driving (once on the freeway). I thought it might be my battery but it can't be. Also i've been looking all over to find out a solution to this serious problem.

Does anyone know what is causing this to happen? And how can i fix this?

What do you mean by shutting off? Is it stalling? Are any of the lights on ect? A little more details would be beneficial.

Pullup some codes that could give a clue, battery fuel filter or pump could be bad.

I would not be comfortable driving it like that man, losing engine on freeway that can be harry.

When it shut off it gave me no type of warning. I looked down on my speed-o-meter and saw my lights on so i wasnt moving after i noticed that. I just pulled over. I also researched it and people say it could be the crankshaft sensor but how to i fix that?

So youre saying you do not have the "Service Engine Soon" light? If you do, you need to get a code reader, as been said, and post the value you get from the reader.

Help us, help you
