K BUS problem
I have 07 M coupe with 15000 KMS. The cluster will go dim, the stereo stops working, my signals do not light up in the cluster but work on the car, non of the steering wheel functions work, the airbag light comes on, the engine light comes on. I ran the diagnostic software DIS and it said there is a fault in the K BUS either short or open. I reset the system once the fault goes away, but it keeps coming back. It will turn all of this on and off at will while driving. I have disconnected the cluster and drove and still happens. I have taken the right side dash apart and disconnected all the fuses and connectors to see if anything was loose but all seems fine. Any ideas?

Do you have a denison icelink or anything aftermarket installed on the kbus?

I Found out that my IPOD adapter was SHORTING out. I have removed the adapter and ALL problems disappeared. Everything is 100%. Ironically, I don't own and IPHONE.
