Default Auto headlights Staying On

Here recently I have noticed that my auto headlights will stay on even during a bright sunny day. I park in a dark garage so I know they are on for that reason but usually they cut off as soon as I pullout into the sun. You guys ran into this?

There is a little sensor on the LCM (light control module). Yours may be broken, hence the car thinks it's always dark. Replace the LCM and you should be good to go.

What? Just turn them on when you drive...

Mine seems to turn them on at all except the sunniest of times. If I drive down a shady street at 12 noon, they're on before I get all the way down it.

Mine started doing the same thing too. Isn't this sensor in the rear view mirror? I recently sent mine to be repaired because of the auto-dimming stuff leaking out. Come to think of it I never noticed the lights staying on until after I got it back.

Nope, if you look on the LCM (where you turn the lights on), there is a little clear/white dot on the top center. That is the sensor to tell if it's dark or light out.

I'll check this out...will I be able to tell if it's broken? Happen to have a part # for the LCM? Thanks

No really way to tell. Only thing I could suggest is maybe to put the car in a dark place (garage) and then shine a flashlight directly onto the sensor. If it shuts off, it works, if not broke. But don't hold me to that since I haven't tried that on a working one haha. But worth a shot.

Here is the diagram (#9), but you can find these on ebay most of the time. Also, check the marketplace on here. I've seen them around
