Summary of the behavior:
Both keys work flawlessly for lock and unlock, from 10+ feet away. This leads me to believe the key batteries are perhaps not the problem. However, neither key works reliably for comfort open of the windows (or close, as I have that enabled). Every so often when holding the button down, the windows will move for a second or two, but that's it. Holding the button down for maybe three or four minutes will produce enough bursts of activity to actually complete the entire up/down movement, which isn't exactly ideal ![]() Any initial button press of both keys registers, however, since the unlock and lock work as they should. And the interior foot well lights illuminate on all presses, even when pressing unlock after the car is already unlocked (or lock when it's already locked). Anyone else experienced this problem? My thinking: I don't *think* it's the key battery and/or buttons since both keys are producing the same symptoms, and do so for both lock and unlock. And I don't think it's the antenna in the rear view mirror since any initial button press always registers and it receives signals from a distance. I've also confirmed that it's not a local-to-my-garage interference issue by testing in multiple locations, including a remote parking lot. Any ideas? Is this just the first sign of a dying remote battery? |
