I don't know the details but that sounds too cheap for the car in the pics.

PM me if you want more details if you need proof of the car posted selling for $17.5.

Ya, as I said, the market is soft. I have a friend in Southern Cal tha sold an even cleaner example than my brothers for $18k+/-. Search on S14 under Ductape66. He originally had it listed at like $24k and sat on it for a long period due to him not really having to rush to sell it. He finally sold a few months back.

True. Engine work is costly. My mechanic was working on a car that was bought for 40K with about 40K miles on it... and from what I understand it was getting rather costly valve work. I sent you a pm with some more specifics about my car... if you are interested? Otherwise, there is a car with similar miles for sale in Washington state for about 22K. It looks as if it is original (see autotrader).

Just throwing my $.02 in as a someone who might buy an e30 m3 at some point down the road.

Not saying I speak for everyone, but most people in the market will want to see as close to a 100% stock car as possible. To me, when I see aftermarket rims and other performance mods on a potentially valuable classic car, it knocks about 40% off the value of it, and most likely takes it off the list of potential purchases. When a car becomes a class, as the e30 has, virtually all aftermarket parts do nothing but harm the value.

Clean, stock, well maintained cars with documentation will always fetch the highest dollar. That being said, you'd be a LOT better off by putting back all the stock parts & selling the aftermarket parts separately. I made that mistake many years ago on my first 3 series and I know now it always pays to sell a stock car & aftermarket parts separately.

I beg to differ, quality parts like he has on his car add value for sure. HRE wheels, Brembo BBK, Ma,Shaw Hood in my eyes are mods I would want to do after I bought it anyways so this way it saves the buyer some money and is a better performing vehicle. Some mods yes are not worth it and should be removed but the ops mods are high quality correct mods for this car. Do u think an E30 M3 with a stock S14 should sell for the same price as say one with a S50B32 motor swap? Waiting for answer.....

I can see quality parts adding some value, however if i were going to buy a car like that i would definitely prefer close to stock. As for price the shop that does work on my E36 has an E30 M3 stock with 140k and hes selling for 23K

I do have original wheels and brakes. I know some people like the car original with all the service paperwork... b/c it appeals to collectors (who I guess might put in storage and use it as an investment). I have had this car for a long time (I am second owner), and I remember one of the biggests criticisms about the car was small wheels inside big fenders (it did not look that good). Also, to add the Brembo brakes you need the bigger wheels. The brake upgrade offers a much nicer feel. I selected the 3 piece HREs b/c they are classic style and do not make the car look cheap. When I take it to a car show I never get any complaints that it does not have the original wheels. Instead, I get a lot of people who comment on how much they like the wheels and brakes. Additionally, the light weight hood just makes sense to me b/c it lightens up the car and goes along well with the hand made quality of the car. I have light weigth control arms and fly wheel to also reduce the weight, and like the hood, they do not alter the outward appearance of the car. However, the mods do enhance the driving pleasure of the car... no question about it. The 23K price for an original car with 140K miles is in line with what I had posted my car for on autotrader, so it seems as though my car is a indeed a fair deal for someone who might want to drive the car on the weekend and have a little fun. These are fun cars to drive!!! With that being said, I sincerely appreciate all the feedback that has been generated so far... it is very helpful in determining a fair price. Thank you all.
