I absolutely love it and it was so nice to get rid of the damn key+fob combo. Completely plug and play, cheap (I think), and he offers several solutions.
How does the key work? Do you use your existing key and put it into the fob?

I've also seen early-mid 2000s Subaru fobs that were identical to the BMW ones except with colored buttons. Bet if you got one and followed the BMW reporgram instructions it would work.

I do like the integrated key/remote idea so much better. I ikow that later BMWs had this. Is it possible to get the later type key and have it cut/programmed to work with the E36 locks and alarm system. (I doubt it but you never know) Anyone know for sure?

Hmm well I already have an alarm/remote system so I'm having a hard time justifying $210 for a system just to get a different keyfob. Now if they sell just a programmable key that would be awesome

So Has anyone used a programmable/universal keyfob that works? I didn't think it would be this hard to find options for something like this
No, there are no universal fobs for your oem alarm, other than the ones like Nick posted that are made by alpine.

No, you use the blank key and have access to all E36s ever made.

No, you get the key cut and swap your EWS chip over

If that were possible, the guy wouldn't have a market selling his solution.

The answer is no.

Anyone else want a reply with no in it?

They are no longer available.

Anyone know of other options for 96+? I guess the subaru is the way to go?

Okay from digging a little, appears the Subaru fob has the same FCC ID (A269ZUA111) which to me says it will work. In fact, some on ebay have gray buttons. I will try this and see if it works

(Edit: Read my new post below)

UAS is down the street from me, I've visited their office a few times and have their old style keyless go system from 3-4 years ago. My key fob broke and I've been meaning to bring it back to them for a new one but haven't got the chance.
