Default Rac rs110

A RAC RS110 Group Buy? HOLY MOLY!

I have spoken to Shep and he has stated that if there are 10 committed buyers, we can go ahead with the group buy.

Taken from Cleveland's original GB thread

Anyone who wants a set of RS110's needs to step up now. This rare group buy opportunity won't be around for very long. I'm only going to keep this open for about two weeks max and then this group buy will be closed. I already have a few people signed up, so I want this to proceed as quickly as possible to avoid having committed buyers waiting around.

Some of you know how the RAC MONOLITE wheel group buys work already. But for those of you who don't know, here is the breakdown...

Pricing: $3300

A non-refundable deposit (50%) would be required from each participant to join. (via wire transfer or bank cashiers check only)

The remaining balance would be due, when the ship leaves Japan on it's journey to the United States. (same payment requirements)

SIZES
18x9.5 ET35 ONLY. This is the ultimate track wheel. That is why we will run a square set up (all 4 wheels will be the same size for easy rotation, which equals longer tire life)

Rough estimated manufacturing time table would be 3.5-4 months from start to finish after the order is placed. (possibly quicker)

DEADLINE FOR GROUP BUY: September 1st, 2010. Understand you won't get these wheels till early 2011.

Available Finishes would be: Anthracite, Gunmetal, Polished, Silver, Hyper-black; Hyper-silver, Bright silver, Gloss and Matte black

THESE ARE PICTURES OF RAC RG63. Just shown for COLOR CHOICES

These were designed to be dedicated track wheels, but they can still be used on the street for everyday use. (keep that in mind)

NOTE: You will need a 10mm hubcentric spacer (minimum) on the rear wheels to push them out to a 'normal' visual offset. (otherwise the wheels will appear sunk in) The reason RAC does this, is that a non-staggered setup allows for all four wheels to be rotated for track use. This will give you better treadwear (longer life) on all of the tires. (including street tires) That particular setup also saves you money.

For those of you who are not familiar with RS110's, here are the specs:

*18 x 9.5 offset +35 (only size available for a 'square' track setup)

*6061-T6 Heat-Treated Aluminum Alloy (the best raw material currently used in the wheel industry)

*8000 TON FORGED 1-piece monoblock wheel (this process produces the strongest possible wheel in the industry)

*18 pounds each

* 72.6mm center bore for a perfect HUBCENTRIC fit on your car. (no centering rings needed)

*These 18" wheels require NO SPACERS to clear a 14" (355mm) BBK. They are only known to clear 14" BBK's. (15" BBK's are typically too large for the 18" wheel diameter)

*You can safely run 265/35/18 tires all the way around. (275's are also an option depending on your suspension setup)

*These wheels are designed use the OEM roundel centercap.

*The RS 110 wheels exceed JWL & VIA wheel specification ratings. (extreme strength and durability testing) And these wheels are certified for use on the E46 M3.

*Made in Japan at one of the finest and most experienced wheel forging factories in the world. (same plant where CHAMPION, DINAN and NEEZ wheels are manufactured)

To all interested parties: Please post your request here. (in one place) If you want to remain anonymous for any reason, please feel free to contact me via PM if you are serious about getting in on this opportunity.

Any general questions about these wheels should be asked here.

This won't stay open for more than a couple of weeks. I'm not going to leave this open for months like my last group buy. Get your request in now if you want a set of these wheels.

Thanks.

It is safe to assume that no fender rolling will be required to use these with a 265 tire? What if the car is lowered, say, one inch?

i run 265 with about 13.5 front and 13 in the rear ride height. no problems. of course it's very much dependent upon the tire choice and some sidewalls are rounder or square-er than others.

Each tire is different. I ran 275/35/18 nitto nt01 on my current ride height and they did not rub. I run the same size toyo r888 now and they do rub.

If you are low enough that the top of your tire is tucked into the rear fender, you should roll your fenders and get adjustable control arms.
