So here is the evolution of the project from january 2010:
Looks like a thief recovery car!
-I clean a bit the engine bay and removed things like the EGR air-pump, plastic trims, ducts,...
I installed a Vorsteiner carbon fiber hood
Also put a CSL carbon fiber trunk
Install Bimmerworld carbon fiber brake ducts and some CSL front splitters replica
I removed the sunroof and installed the carbon fiber sunroof from Ebay, fitment is not perfect but will live with that
Install a Kirk 4 point roll bar
Here is the Jaffster delrin shift knob
Also removed the sound deadning
Playing with the wiring harness...

I did some custom aluminium dash block off plate cause i removed the heater control, radio, ...
- Braille Battery 11Lbs VS Mini/CSL 36Lbs
-New Clutch Master FQ300 with lightweight flywheel
-OMP Corsica Superleggero 350mm suede
-Installing the CF sunroof delete skin
Here is my APR GTC-300, need to do some custom brackets to fit to the car and not to the trunk.
Dash is back into the car
Installed the Spal 16" pusher fan with customs brackets
Changed heim joints on the swaybars links and now need to put new 3" brake duct hose
Stoptech BBK 355mm all around will make a nice difference from oem setup, can't wait to try that mods.
Installing the new clutch and flywheel
Switch from Turner swaybars to Ground Control
Change the alternator also
And the kind of parts people put on my car when i'm not there...

-Install UUC EVO 3 short shifter kit with double shear rod
-K&N typhooncold air intake
-Evosport underdrive pulleys
-Wink 4 panels mirrors
-Aerocatch hoods pins
-CF skin installed, what a pain in the ass
-Some CF fabrics on the aluminium plates
Tranny is back in place
I changed my motor mount, the one on the passanger side was 1/2" shorter...
Playing with the clutch slave
Here is my custom Alumalite 6mm splitter, still under construction and not fix to the car on pictures.
SSR Type C 18''X9.5'' et35 in flat black.

Nice project, why not weld in the cage since you already have the car apart?

Great project, I love seeing e46 M's go from daily to full track. A road that I will hopefully be going down soon.
One question I have though is how are you gonna mount the wing? Everyone I have spoke to says that the V CSL carbon fiber trunk is to thin to mount any wing to.

Some great stuff!! I've been thinking about making a similar splitter/under tray.

Anyway, i will go with the roll cage next winter, it will be a nice project for 2011, and the shop might double size during the summer. So i will have some space to work

The carbon fiber skin on the top of the trunk is so thin you can barely see throught... No way a wing would stay fix to it at 100mph.
I will make custom bracket to mount it similar to that car, i will have to remove the wing to open the trunk.
