Well sounds like you may have a wrong control arm or its different then OEM and for your lights that came on, sounds like you may have done something to the wheel speed sensor. Did you hit it or disconnect in the process? All the lights correspond with a wheel speed sensor.

Hmm...

Well here's my $.02

I'm thinking they sold you a standard E46 Control Arm and you have now bolted it to your M3. A quick check shows me that the E46 M3 control arms are 100% unique to the M3 and that there are no aftermarket arms available, only OE Lemfoerder arms. What this means is that there is going to very little aftermarket company support for building a supply a totally unique product for a, in relative numbers, low production car, thus the reason the OE arms are so expensive.

Sooo what can you do to sort it out. Did you, or can you take any pictures of the new arm? Did you visually compare the two arms when you swapped them. Though both the standard E46 and E46 M3 arms are aluminum and "boomerang" shaped, the M3 arm's inner arc is noticeably different.

If all of that matches up, I suggest pulling the arm off and actually comparing the measurements between the two ball joints on each arm. The E46 M3 arm is going to be wider, because the car itself has a wider track. Obviously with a standard E46 arm on one side this would severely alter the alignment and cause the issues you are having. Either way, an alignment is 100% required when R&R control arms.

The rash of idiot lights sounds like a wheel speed sensor. All of the systems you listed use the information from a speed sensor in one way or another. Check to make sure you reconnected, if you disconnected it at all, or did not damage the wheel sensor.

And lastly...if you cannot reattach the headlight adjustment rod...thats just icing on the cake that this is NOT the right part for the car.

The wheel speed sensor bolts to the back of the wheel hub/ strut assembly. It points directly to the back of the wheel bearing and gets the reading by measuring how fast the "teeth" go past. If you look from the back side of the rotor you should be able to trace the wiring fairly easily.

Lemfoerder makes the BMW arm. Check pricing at Turner Motorsport or Bimmerworld.

The only difference between the Lemfoerder arm and the Genuine BMW arm is....the Genuine BMW arm will have the BMW roundel on it. That's it. In fact, there's a good chance the Lemfoerder will too, it just depends on if they actually have a separate mold or not.

Either way, the OE Genuine arm IS a Lemfoerder arm, they make them for BMW.

thanks, i owe you guys my life, lol, either that or some business...i will go ahead and order the lemforder control arm...thanks again supersprintna.
You can place the order at TMS on-line. I ordered my arms from them. $300/ arm is about what you're going to pay. Its even more expensive if you go to the dealer. You may also want to change your FCAB bushings while you're working on this project.
