Yep, I just did this on my sedan.
NOTE: For sedans, it is two smaller pieces, not one big cowl piece. On my sedan, there was absolutely no need to put the hood in the service position. This is probably because there are two pieces instead of one larger one. For the coupe, I can see having to put the hood in the service position.

Yea you definitely need to on the coupe, and even then its tight. Takes 2 minutes to do though. I did this whole thing by myself, no friend to hold anything. It is very easy.

I believe if the wiper is in the up position it should come off pretty easy and you don't need a gear puller or anything

I was able to just wiggle mine off and pry up a little with the same flathead I used to pop the covers off.

This job is very straight foward. Good write up! I recommend you to get the necessary grommets and clips (4 of each #51138124389, 51718108613) and the winshield wipers can be a PITA. I was about to go rent a puller when maybe the Penetrant fluid -Could have been the trick!- settlled in and I was able to snake them off. Felt close to breaking the mechanisim under! Be good to your car and clean the inside when you are done

Subscribed, thank you. Parts came in from ECS and I will be doing it this weekend. I'm just going to guy buy the tool you mentioned, I don't want to deal with a broken one.

Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT, attempt to remove the wiper arms without a puller. I found the one I used (made by Lisle) at Pep Boys. There is no way I could have removed the wiper arms without that puller.

Did you snap the arms into the upward/outward position, put a few drops of penetrant on Friday them, and then wiggle them? I'm curious because this is how I've successfully removed wiper arms from cars older than my M3 without a puller. I'm just wondering because I've seen some people say they had no problem and others snapped the wiper arms. Not that a puller is expensive...I've just never needed one personally. Maybe I've been lucky.
