Default Are these two bottles of Castrol TWS the same?

On the left is a bottle with some leftover oil I saved from my last oil change. On the right is one of the 6 bottles Tischer sent me in the latest oil change kit I bought from them. Both bottles were from Tischer's online oil change kit orders, just at two different times.

I see the pictures in Tischer's online catalog actually look like the right side bottle. Just noticed that actually. I'm just hoping these are actually the same product and I didn't use the wrong oil last time.

I don't think I'd even be that worried, except Tischer also sent me the wrong oil filter package (11 42 7 510 717) which is a filter used in some of the older V8 models.

Help me rationalize all that's going on here. Thanks.

on the back i think it also says on both that they are used for e46 m3s and e39 m5s, hoped that helped somewhat.

BMW has rebranded all fluids and jacked up the prices.

I dont see a reason why not- oil is not like, say, brake fluid that will lose its boiling point threshold by absorbing moisture. You should be fine-then again, if you change oil once every 2 years...I would just go with fresh sealed oil just in case it was exposed to dirt.

I don't daily drive my M3, and have put on only 1,500 miles in the last 4 months. Does anyone know how long you should go before changing oil? At this rate I won't hit the 6-7k threshold of changing the oil for a year and a half or so. It's also not garaged, and subject to pretty cold and hot temps during the year.

Annually at a minimum.
