Really? What specifically do you like about the M3 better than the M coupe (I'm assuming its an E86?). Are the handling and overall driving characteristics that much different? I drove my friends 05 M3 SMG and it was a blast. Didn't drive it around much cause I was visiting him in LA. I've toyed around with getting a E46M3 and making it a dedicated track toy.

For me its easier cause I have the E85 M Roadster so its my weekend cruise/occasional autox (stiff but not as rigid as the M coupe, loved the lines of the coupe but had to try a convertible for the first time.)

But for you which is the daily driver?

I personally don't really do a whole lot of autox...so I don't mind giving up some rigidity

I hope I don't regret it......but that can be said of every purchase

Why we go to the Track:

"The reality is that the line between a butt-puckering near-miss and a life-altering event is absolutely razor thin. We put ourselves in a
thousand potentially disastrous situations during every lap around the track. Our brains and our bodies are constantly dealing with a flood of
sensory input and making decisions and adjustments in real time.
In many ways, that's what makes the sport so appealing. That intense level of physical and mental concentration, much like a "runner's high,"
is a powerful narcotic that sinks its hooks into our brains from the moment we clip that first perfect apex."

I've been here for years, mostly lurking in the E46 M3 forum. Just tonight I noticed this section. Jeez I'm slow!
