cheaper monthly payment, more options, convertible, 2 seats, lighter (i.e. faster), and is essentially brand new.....plus I have a 328i if I need something practical, so I no longer need another sedan.

I drive both a 2001 m3 and the m coupe. I love the z, but I wouldn't consider having it without my m3. If it works for you then great. Just make sure you don't wind up regretting it. FYI I find the m3 much more fun on the autox course and track.
