Default DETAILED Pics while doing maintenance, Inspection 2, VANOS, RTAB's

I did some work today for member on the boards.. he had a whole list of things for me to do on his car.

- Inspection 2 : Oil Change, Valve Adjustment, Trans/Diff fluid Change

-"Tonester" VANOS Maintenance : (Changed O-rings, Filter cartridge, sealing plate)

-Install BHS Power Pulleys

-Install PowerFlex RTABS

-Install Koni shocks

More to come with in the next month!!

I took large pics of the VANOS filter so you can see how much junk there is on that filter and everyone should replace theirs. I honestly think this should be a part of the 1200 mile service and also done on every inspection.

You can also see that his VANOS "Sealing Plate" was seeping a good amount of oil out, which was also replaced during the VANOS maintenance.

You can see the RTAB's are worn out, his belts were also worn but I the BHS pulleys came w/ a new belt.. I don't have pics of that wasn't really a critical part.

Hope you guys enjoyed the info/pics!

Nice.....Whats the mileage on the M? Needs a good cleaning....Where is the vanos filter located? Do you have to take the head off to get to it? How did she run after work was done?

This one has 120k on it, mine filter looked the same @ 80k. Car isn't running yet.. waiting for a few shims/ and a set of spark plugs from the dealer which I'm picking up tomorrow!

No, The VANOS maintenance is VERY SIMPLE, you can read about it in the link in my sig from one of my previous posting... I posted up the details/part numbers.
