Fall-Line Motorsports. Someone is getting a custom job there - they've replaced all the body panels with carbon fiber and they're replacing the engine with the V10 used in the M5/M6.

Hartge did that already - they put the E39 M5 V8 in a Z4 back in 2003. http://www.fast-autos.net/vehicles/Hartge/2003/Z4_5.0/

Spoke to a saleswoman for BMW and she said yes there would be a M... but did not know what engine would go into it. Definitely the 35i motor will be available.

you seriously believe she knew what she was talking about? I don't doubt that BMW will put out an M, but this saleswoman knows nothing about it.

Most sales people are posers. They have to act like they know what they're talking about even when they don't.

I love the accusations of the sales woman not knowing anything about the topic, yet some in this thread are making assumptions and predictions based on nothing but opinion. The new Z4 has barely been released here... and let's face it BMW likes to keep potential M models underwraps for awhile.

I personally think thy will come out with another M coupe eventually. It all depends on how they foresee the market shaping up in my opinion... as there are not too many people driving 2 seater sport cars around with this current economy. Then again all the talk of M division X series vehicles makes me wonder how they couldn't possibly make the next M coupe. Put M resources toward something useful imo.

The former have more weight - they're based on experience!
