Default Need part number for driver side door actuator

Hey Guys,

So recently my car has been telling me that my driver side door is open (Interior lights come on, window goes down a little bit, and light on dash illuminates) when I am driving and the door is really closed. After doing some searching, it seems that my door actuator needs to be replaced. Since I have had nothing but horror stories dealing with dealerships, I figured I will just replace it myself. I just need to find the part number so I can order it from Tischer. Anyone know the part number?

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

Dimitri

Dimitri, this is kind of a involved job. Good luck.

Yeah, it's a pain in the ass. Gotta remove the door panel, vapor barrier, airbag module, regulator and window (most likely, to get any room to work), disconnect both the interior and exterior door handle cables from the actuator, disconnect the locking pin thing, then there's probably a few bolts to get the actuator out.

That's just from memory from working in there a few times, but I'm probably off with a few things.

Only other pain in the ass thing to mention is if you decide to do the shortcut method you can slip it passed the window regulator with force but if you decide to do it the standard way you'll have to remove the window and the window regulator.

ps. if you decide to remove window regulator and window you'll need to adjust the window afterwards with BMW's special tool.

You need to adjust it even if you put it back in the exact same position?

If you remove the window and window regulator from the car it's really unlikely you can position the window back to the spot it needs to be (there's 4 different adjustments).

Well, now my car is REALLY going crazy. Had to disconnect the battery for the night because my car keeps thinking the door is opened and turns on the lights while it is just sitting locked in the garage.

Ordered the part from Tischer just now. Anyone have a link to a DIY? I would really rather not have to take it to the dealership.
