Default Cilajet - dont buy

To pre-empt the 8 thousand emails telling me how stupid i was for buying this. what can i say - i let my guard down - i was stupid. first BMW purchase and i expected they would not be like a used car dealer or a ford dealer and just trying to sell useless add ons.

The main purpose of the purchase was because they advertised that it prevents damange from the hard water we have here in southern california. IT DOES NOT. it rained last tuesday - just two days later - i washed my car - could not get out the water spots - that the cilajet was suppose to prevent. even a simple coat of wax makes it easy to wash these out. i was told the cilajet replaces the need for wax and solves the water spot problem. i actually had to buy paint repair product by mcguires to get the damn spots off the hood. and am now going to put on a full coat of wax.

I do have to give the dealer credit though - they did provide a full refund when i complained. my question - is why sell it in the first place if you know its not a good product.

also was suppose to prevent the hairline swirling in black paints (i have jerez black). i could see the very beginnings of these on my trunk lid - luckily its soon enough that a little rubbing and polishing can get them right out.

just posted this to prevent any other stupid idiots like myself from getting ripped off on the cilajet nonsense.

Default

At least you got the discount...

I would also NOT recommend this product. Was given the same promises: never will need a wax, no swirls or circles, protect against bird droppings, last for 10 years...

BS.

I would battle for a refund too, but after my experience so far with this dealership's service - I'm done with them. Lesson learned.
