Default NINEKRPM: Performance Tunning (Dyno Day / Results)

The car is going through a few small changes so we decided to get some baseline dyno numbers before the mods are installed and the car is tuned.

Did 6 runs, of which 3 were done while the car was hot to get a good average.

All 6 runs were within 2 HP.

Current Performance Mods include:

- Dinan Stage 1 SW
- Dixis 76mm Exhaust (muffler only)

Current HP = 288.6 @ 7400
Current Tq= 239.8 @ 5200

-----------------------------------

Two phases are planned to slightly increase the performance with focus on Torque...

Phase I will focus on increasing airflow and some custom SW tuning.

Here is the list for Phase I:

- Dinan Intake
- CSL Headers
- Custom 3" Single Complete Exhaust (the exact same exhaust that Fall-Line builds / uses on all thier race car setups)
- No Cats
- Custom Race SW by OSCAR (used by TMS, Automatic, Kinetic, Fall-Line, etc...)

Dyno numbers for this will be posted next weekend.

Here is the info on the Dyno shop (Speed Lab) who did the dyno.

Don't know average numbers for stock S54s... but if I use the general 15% driveline loss number, you're doing ~331 at the crank. That good?

ya your base numbers are good ...... you musta been driving her hard b4 the dyno's (which is good for the DME to adjust for aggresive output)

With Headers and No Cats (and the right SW) you should lay 300 rwhp down.
I would stay away from the Dinan stuff and talk to Sean@D/A here on the forum.

Which CAI almost doesnt matter.

also, did u see that thread by the flyndutchman (aka Sander)
he did some great Dyno work and put out some fantastic numbers = thats almost the exact same setup I plan.

GL keep us posted.

GL keep us posted.

I was going to try out a few new things; however, ended up going with a single straight through race exhaust setup.

I saw Saunders' write-up a few months back. He provided very good numbers with the setup he ended up with.

I will share my numbers next week for comparison...

Default Upadate:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Side by side data comparision coming shortly in Excel to show the power curve

Here were the results of the dyno today after the Header / Custom Exhaust install.

We found a gain of 26 HP and 16 Trq.

The car hits 300 HP @ 6500 and stays above 300 through redline

A little low-end Torque was lost between 2500 - 4200 - however, the Torque curve has an increase from 4200 through redline from the baseline data

Also, attached are a few pics of the setup.
