Default help w some paint issues... need advice...

So I'm the 3rd owner of a 2004 M3. When I bought the car this mark was on the driver side roof and I can't exactly tell what it is. I'm about to start buying some detailing supplies and start cleaning/detailing the car myself and wanted to get some advice/feedback from ya'll about what this mark is...

As you can tell it's like the area has dried up... Since buying the car, I've brought it to a good detailing shop and have kept it super clean. I can't speak for the previous owners, but I love to keep the M nice and shiny.

Any ideas as to what this is? And how to approach it when I start detailing the car myself? I'd love to hear any ideas...

Thx!!

you might not be able to fix that the paint is cracked.

^^ +1 That definitely does not look fixable. It may even be the clearcoat
