Default BMW M1 Mid-Engine Prototype

Hit me with the repost flames!

I did a search and couldn't find this anywhere. I'm absolutely certain I'm not the first to post about it.

I just picked up the most recent copy of Automobile mag and on the cover is the M1 mid-engine prototype that was revealed at the Villa d'Este Concourse d'Elegance in Italy.... There's a whole article about it.

More Pics: http://www.automobilemag.com/multime...per/index.html

Sounds like they're debating about what to make of this - affordable vs. exotic. fast vs. not-so-fast. does it keep the M1 badge or does the 1 series get to make an M car that gets to be called the M1.

Personally - I think it's pretty sweet and with another revision or two, it's got some promise!

All right.

If anyone cares to look... there are TWO other threads that contain a photochopped unofficial picture of a white M1 concept in a hanger. This is NOT that car.

This is an official release of a functioning mid-engine car that is backed by BMW.

If there's another thread with this car in it - please ProduceLinkOrBanASAP!
