Default Battery Problem with my car?

So today I was driving home from school and something odd happened. My radio randomly went out, my radar went off (Hardwired), and my dash went out. About 5 seconds later the radar came back on, the CD continued playing and my dash lit up again but the mileage/time indicators were reset.

Then I pull in to get some gas and turn off my car but left the key in position 2 and the same thing happened again. The entire dash went black and the radio/radar both went out as well. I turned the key and nothing. Then suddenly everything came back on to normal.

I am guessing this is a problem with the battery, or maybe even the connection. Anyone have any ideas??

Could be battery, could be connections, you'll find out when it does it for good and stops being intermittent.

I'd hate to be in the middle of nowhere when it decided to do it for good.....

Looks like the connections to your battery. They could be loose or dirty. If there is crap on the connections use some battery terminal cleaner and a wire brush to clean them.

My E28 ALWAYS does this, and its so annoying. Happens really often too when the boost kicks in and always causes me to lose races because I lose all power, steering etc. My battery is loose as well because the battery tie down is broken which adds to my problem.

I'll check this out later today. Thanks for the input

It could be the alternator as well. If you bring it to Advanced Auto or something similar they will test your battery and alternator for free.

Would the alternator be covered under warranty if it needed to be replaced?

If you have a warranty - an alternator would certainly be covered.

Good to know. I'll have to get it checked out since my warranty is expiring in may
