Default JVT (eBay) header just arrived in the mail

UPS just dropped off my eBay headers today. Got raped again by the Brokerage charges coming from USA to Canada, but thats a whole nother topic in itself

Initial thoughts.... ordered the JVT header because I read that it might have better fitment than the rest. The first thing I noticed is that this header might not even be a JVT header. Can anyone who bought one verify with me as there is no JVT badge welded onto the header and it didn't come in the white JVT header box that is shown in the eBay listings. Instead it came in a plain brown box that says HDS-BMWE46M3 on the side.

Finish and welds look decent. No complaints there. I took a close look at the flanges to see if they lie level on the same plane with each other, but mine don't really look like they do. I hope that with some prying and tightening when they are on the car this won't cause a problem. I took some detailed pictures to show what I mean. The gaskets don't look like very good quality. I will follow the advice of others and order some OEM gaskets to use instead.

I'll do the installation when it gets warmer around here and post some vids/results and hopefully be able to put her on the dyno to show some results with my Magnaflow exhaust. Right now its -30 degrees Celcius here and about -50 with windchill!

Below is the link to the eBay auction for the "JVT" header. If you goto his website 2nrparts.com he sells a lot of other JVT stuff so the one I have may or may not be JVT.

No new bolts needed, you'll need gaskets and nuts, don't use the cheap gaskets that come with the headers or you'll be doing the work twice.

Yes. I buy food off the grocery store shelf because the box looks better Also the JVT headers go for a little bit more on eBay than the other SS headers and I payed the extras $30 some odd dollars for that badge!

That costs more than the header itself

Other alternatives? I have a feeling my dealership will give me the same raping. Tischer?
