Default Synthetic or Natural Carnauba wax ?

I know there are tons of posts on car wax/polishes in the search database.
But with the recent surge in pure synthetic car waxes ( turtle wax ice for example ), I wondering which way to go ? Synthetic or Natural Carnauba.
I'm looking for what everyone else is: deep wet-look shine, and durability against the weather, rock chips, and water spots. Which way do you suggest, and then list the best you've found.

There is no such thing as "synthetic carnauba" - carnauba wax is made from the leaves of the carnauba palm tree. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnauba_wax

Most people here find joy with some form of polymer (plastic) finish (which is not a "wax" - it's a plastic coating) such as Zaino, or FMJ. These finishes - properly applied will give a great look, and will last for 6-12 months, with only light touchups required. They "layer" on if done correctly (multiple applications result in a thicker coating, better glass and deep wet look and better durability.)

Waxes do not do this - waxes contain solvents that are added to help make the wax spreadable, and these solvents tend to dissolve prior layers of wax on the car.

That's the short story - the long story will be found on the forum that I'm moving this to - the one where the question should have been asked..

Thanks for moving my post (and being nice about it).....sorry, I'm still a bit new to the forums.
The comparison I was referring to was: to go with a natural wax product or a synthetic product. They really are as opposite as you can get from each other. Good job breaking it down to the essential difference.

Why choose?

I use Poorboy's EX-P pure sealant, followed by Natty's Paste Blue Carnuba Wax. Long lasting protection, coupled with the ridiculous water-repelling characteristics of a good Carnuba.

M3keeper - from prior experience I can opine that deep wet-look gloss and shine and durability do not go hand in hand with the same product. Best thing to do is use a synthetic sealant like FMJ (for durability and protection) and carnauba on top of it for the deep wet-look shine (and some protection). This way you only need to renew the carnauba monthly and FMJ ever 6-8 months.

I'd recommend FMJ and one of the Swissvax products. I use Onyx cause it's more affordable and I can't imagine anything looking better.

As can see in this forum, the absolute best place to get top notch products and service is from Phil @ Detailer's Domain.
