Default Less Horsepower?

Well me and my friend made a custom midsection for my 325. We removed the cats and resonators and put metal pipes in its place. And we added a Dinan catback exhaust. I sometimes feel power and then I dont.

Is there anyway I could've lost power from doing this to my exhaust?

You own a 325...

Noise doesnt equal power... but to answer your question the head pipes are what control the power, everything after has very little effect (within reason of course).

if the tubing is of a larger size then you may have lost a few ft/lbs of torque for a few hp gain up top. i doubt that the ~2-3 ft/lbs lost you could feel on the butt dyno in a 3k+ lb car.

My thoughts exactly...

You probably lost low end power for sure. You MIGHT have gained some top end.

Anything you gained(3-6 if your lucky) would be almost unnoticeable.

Yea you won't feel it... it's a placebo effect from having a noisy exhaust. Ever since I ripped out the sagging sound deadening around my transmission, the car seems faster - but it's simply louder.

Plus modifications short of serious cams/forced induction on an M50 are completely worthless - don't waste your money!
