Default Tom Tom location - central air vent?

What are good locations for the Tom Tom? Did not want to put it by the left a pillar. I was concerned about the airbag. Do you think with some (or lots) of mods it would fit in the left part of the central air vent? How do you think that would look?

Thank

There are mounts that are specifically made to connect to the air vents.

I use two different mounts from Arkon

I was thinking of pulling the central air vent apart and mounting it in the vent. Not sure yet. I will pull it apart this weekend and take a look. I may have to modify Tomtom as well. But I think it would be a great location.

I mount my Tom Tom at the left pillar near bottom, just above dash. I figure that if the airbag ever does deploy, it will toss the Tom Tom to the right. Not too worried about it.

Not sure where you are located, but anything mounted to the windshield (even radar detectors) is illegal in California. Best place would be using one of the kuda consoles:

This is made using a fiberglass core wrapped with leather, complete with stitching to match your M3s interior.

Althought that is quiet a nice mount, I don't think it is very useful if you have to keep looking down at the monitor. But then again, a voice telling you where to turn, that might not be a bad location. Never mind
