Is there anywhere online (like Pacific BMW) where I can buy a replacement key? Ive read that the keys go for about $140 and my local Dealer wants $220 plus tax...

dealer, you have nowhere else to go i think. they need to program the keys for you. 220 is normal, i over heard someone buying the keys at Bmw San Francisco. it was 300 something, but it might 2 keys

THe only place u can get them is the dealer, and they have to be ordered from germany. from what Ive herd its supposed to be like 150-175 per key. idk if that includes programing for the car though. I would call other local dealers cuz u have to prove that its ur car

When I lost my key, I may or may not have told my dealer that my fob wasn't working, and they may or may not have given me a free one.

My local dealer charge $145 plus tax for key with the remote control and $38 plus tax for wallet key(plastic). My key came in next day to the dealer. They don't have to order from Germany.

The keys are laser cut at BMWNA - New Jersey. You have to show clear proof of ownership to the dealer. The dealer is the only place you can go.

Does it have to be a local dealer? Or can I buy from one of the dealers you guys have used? $220 is kind of stiff if others are paying $150

Cannot make copies of BMW keys, they have to be programmed in order for them to work.
