Well - I finally got around to taking some pictures of my new Pioneer AVIC Z-1 HU I had installed about 3 weeks ago.

It's a GREAT unit and I'm 110% satisfied with it!!

The big 7" touch screen and the internal hard drive are AWESOME!! - I love the fact I can burn the CD's directly onto the unit & don't have to lug them around in the car anymore!

I had the unit installed at my buddy's local car audio shop & the bezel is from Rich @ www.mybimmer.net

Also installed were:

1 Pioneer GEX P920XM (XM tuner)
1 Pioneer CD-IB100II (iPod adapter)
1 Peripheral PESWIPS (steering control interface)
1 JL 300/4 Amp

btw, is that radio screen on the third pic? how come it shows the names and stuff? did you update your z1 or some sort?

Thats actually the XM radio screen

I do however wish the radio screen display was like that as well!

i see...the only thing I miss from the OEM Nav HU is the text display for radio stations (and speed sensitive volume control), and you'd think a newer and more advanced aftermarket HU would have it too

Looking good man!....I get so tempted to change out my OEM nav unit because its plain terrible. I hate the fact that it's not touch screen and it's pretty complicated to use compared to aftermarket. I had an older Kenwood 7017 and was really impressed w/ it. That Z1 must be badass.

dude, your interior is ridiculous. one thing, you should really get rid of that bright aluminum trim, the contrast does not agree with the cinammon, IMO. the head unit looks great.
