Default BMW Business CD (Blaupunkt CD43) CD ERROR

So after finally getting my code for my CD43 on eBay and playing one CD all week, I tried to change CDs using the in-dash CD. It wouldn't accept the new CD - normally it grabs the CD and pulls it in - but nothing. It just says "CD ERROR". So I put it in the trunk and noticed it sounds horrible. One half of the balance is missing and it makes static when I go over bumps. Then the sound just completely faded away altogether.

My tape deck never had an issue with the same 6-CD trunk changer. Is this unit toast? The seller has not replied. Worst eBay transaction ever.

Unhappy

Man would I ever be pissed off if I were you.

I would test it a bit more then file a claim before it's too late. I'm in the process of doing so myself to get money back from some scumbag who my girl bought something from.

I can usually tell when they're going to be a problem by the way they communicate.

Good luck.

My skin is on fire just reading this...and I didn't pay a dime for it.

This seller is a joke and probably sent you a bad unit. I hope you paid with paypal...the seller is always guilty until proven innocent if the buyer files a claim. They will refund you in full if you explain to paypal everything that has happened...including receiving a POS product.

Just make sure you do not let the seller stall the situation beyond the grace period that Paypal stipulates (can't remember 30 or 45 days after transaction). After that, Paypal will not help you at all. I went through this with a bad seller and ended up going through my credit card company, and they in turn forced paypal to refund my money. There is too much scum on the bay that have figured out how ot manipulate the system.

Hope it all works out in your favor.

Well as you probably already know, all experienced ebayers pay with cash, so I hope you did the same to cause less problems for this poor seller

My dad had a bad experience on ebay with a digital camera. Ebay did little to help, but his credit card company was actually the one that refunded his money and did all the dirty work with ebay/paypal. Worth a phone call-

Paypal allowed me to dispute the transaction, and the guy called me saying it showed as negative in his account, and to please reverse it. He said he doesn't have another unit but promises he will soon.

I found out that the balance issue was because of the wiring but the CD ERROR is definitely the jammed CD43 unit.

Now my wiring is messed up! I broke the clip on the wiring harness but I think the problem is due to the frayed wires on the fat black wire. The balance is in and out if I jiggle it....

I managed to finagle my C33 back into working.

Is the radio harness clip really necessary or do I have a loose wire?

Are you are referring to the clip that locks the harness in place? If so, then it can affect the connection to the stereo. I had this problem on my 540 before I sold it. The clip was broken on one side and did not hold the harness evenly on both sides. The stereo what cut in and out like it had a short. It was fine when I was holding the unit in my hand and not locked into place. However, when I slid the unit in the dash it was pulling one side off of the stereo harness just enough to create this problem. The following link has the femal connector/harness (71-8590) side if in fact you do have a loose wire. All you would have to do is splice the wires together and you have a new harness.
