M3F.c Summer 2006 Northeast Meet ![]() Ok guys and gals of the North East section, it's summer time. You know what that means. Heat, mosquitoes, bbq's and M3 meets. In the grand tradition of the M3 Forum, we are having our 2nd Bear Mountain Meet, and everyone is invited. This post will be updated as time progresses, so keep checking this page. Information at a glance: Where: Bear Mountain, NY When: June 17, 2006 Time: 1 PM BBQ: Bring something, and add your name to the list. Current Weather for Bear Mountain ![]() Click here for full forecast on Bear Mountain! Important notice to the n00bs: The last meet we organized went off very well. Everyone played by the rules. No one did anything stupid, and what I mean by stupid is this: * Racing * Burning out * Weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed * Showing off, thinking you got huge nuts and are somehow better than everyone else... Please abide by the rules. Use common sense. If I or any of the other event organizers catch someone breaking the rules or in any other way endangering the lives of your fellow M3F'ers or other drivers around you, that will merit a swift kick in the jewels, and you WILL be asked to leave the group. Thank you for your cooperation. Attendee List: Quote:
01. Portable BBQ 02. Charcoal 03. Lighter fluid 04. Napkins 05. Plates 06. Cups 07. Utensils 08. ICE 09. Garbage bags 10. Hamburgers/Buns 11. Hot Dogs/Buns We are only a month away, so let's try to organize everything quickly. Pete, do you want to get the permits this time, or should I do it? Date and Time The tentative date for the meet is June 17, 2006, which is a Saturday. If the weather turns foul, the meet will be held on the following Saturday. Time of the initial meet at the Sheraton Hotel is 11:00 AM. There is an option for those already in upstate NY to just go directly to Bear mountain, where we will meet at a pre-determined time. This section will be updated as soon as the itinerary and route have been finalized. Route and Itinerary Printable document containing the full route/itinerary for the Bear Mountain Meet Quote:
The Sheraton parking lot in NJ: Sheraton Crossroads Parking lot 1 International Blvd Mahwah, NJ 07495 Ok, unfortunately there are no street addresses for the BBQ location, so the best I can do is give you the name of the Inn which is using the same parking lot we will be in. It is called the Bear Mountain Inn. If you do a search in Mapquest, Google Maps, or in a GPS as a POI, it should be located. GPS coordinates for the BBQ (those with Garmin navs) N 41 18' 39.8" W 73 59' 19.8" Things remaining to be done: 1. **Permits acquired** 2. If we hold the BBQ, someone needs to coordinate this so we don't have the SNAFU like last time *cough* Roger *cough* Last edited by amstel78; Thu, Jun-15-2006 at 02:24:36 PM.. |

I think a track rental is a good idea, but for a smaller and more devoted group. This I will keep in mind though for a possible follow-up event in the fall. ![]() |
