Default Techno M3/4/5 on BaT

Yes, this is another BaT thread. I’m kind of amazed at the bids on this techno M3 Sedan with 7 days left, it’s already at 17k. It’s a beautiful example, and the Dinan goodies are a nice perk. Just wanted to see what you all think of it, and where you are estimating it’s hammer price! My guess is low 20s.

Dang, makes me feel extra good for nabbing my Techno/Black M3 sedan for $3800. Sure, mine's an auto and has 212k miles, but it's fundamentally the same car and I can have it manual swapped for $1000 or less.

Looks like it's already bid up to $18K which is surprising with 7 days to go. 118K miles and looks to be well cared for. This car was selling on BAT for $12K - $15K a year ago. Seems our cars have jumped in price and it's not even Spring. Could this be the start of following the E30 M3 trend?

I'm on the fence putting my '98.5 Estoril/Black Coupe w 120K miles on BAT. Only put 500 miles on her last year.

I think the rarer colors seem to do really well on BaT. I don’t believe our cars will ever hit e30 levels, but they do seem to be getting some well-deserved recognition. Gone are the days where e36s were considered throwaway cars! I think an Estoril coupe would do well on BaT, even more so in springtime.

Exactly.

If anyone has followed BaT for the last couple years, you will see the rare/desirable color combos are the only e36's fetching the "big" money.

You aren't going to see the most common color combo car get the same money as a TV, Dakar, DV, etc.

Interior color, mileage, maintenance history, # of owners, accident history, etc. also play a big factor.

We've all seen the really low mileage black/silver e36's go in the low teens for this very reason.

I'm not knocking on the common colored cars, just stating the market trends.

Not enough threads over here anymore to get in my sassy comments haha.

Iím certainly surprised to see the bidding this high this early, as they say, it only takes two.
Itís a really nice car, and you arenít going to just come across another one if you miss it. Iíve said it before and will say it again. Even at the prices they are getting now, you arenít finding many cars that are as enjoyable to own for the price and in the grand scheme of things, a few extra grand doesnít tack on much more to the bills of long term ownership

seems there have been some strong opening bids lately with this Techno, and that 20k Dakar coupe a couple weeks back. That 14k Byzanz suprised me too.

Interestingly Hagerty just put out an article that mentioned E46Ms were by far the highest appreciating of their collector car picks last year (22%!).
