Where one puts them in eye's sight, other nicely hidden away.

I stumbled on some Hakiri led conversion on the 8 series section of the other board. Look nice as well, but too big to have them completely inside the unit. Big heatsink and cooling fan on the back.

Then there's the 'Ebay specil' drop-in led bulbs. No heatsink, no nohing. Probably not worth a try.

I mounted mine next to the horns, so underneath the headlights essentially, pretty much out of the way.

Brett any OBC error codes or flickering due to electrical load? I'd love to go this route to clear up the minor annoyances of my fx-r fitted lights, which are great, but not perfect.

OBC error, yes. No flickering, but radio reception is halved when they are on. I'm looking into resolving those issues.

That's interesting about the radio reception. It's probably something to do with PWM causing interference. It's common for some home LED bulbs to cause interference with garage door remotes.

OBC error shouldn't be too bad, isn't there a sense resistor that the check control uses to measure current? Your LEDs are using half the power of a Hallogen bulb.

You might be able to resolve your EMI issue with a choke on the input wires to the boost converter. A high perm torroid, large enough so you can get 1-4 turns with the input wires might do the trick. You can try wiring common mode, so black and red wires going through, or differential, just the red or just the black going through the core. Wires going straight through a toroid is equal to 1 turn, 1 loop around a toroid is equal to 2 turns.

Laird (formerly Steward) type 28 or LF material would probably work, just pick the size you think would fit:

That's disappointing that Morimoto uses noisy hardware, I'm curious what kind of FCC certification is on that product. Although removing it from its aluminum case, and removing the cable shielding could be part of the issue here.

Yep. I plan to look into modding the check module shunt resistor unless there are software tweaks you can do and add some chokes to the wiring.

I hope you don't feel this way when you receive the headlights from me. Altho your ballasts will be outside of the headlight you won't have any more wiring to show than the factory highs and low plugs and one wire that is ran for city lights.

Nothing against LED bulbs but they don't compare agains the D2S bulbs output.
