Smile Porsche 996 BREMBO BBK Photo DIY

I recently DIY'd a front set of BREMBOs from a Porsche for my M3 and thought it’d be cool to just paste the process in photos to give a quick idea of what’s involved (it can vary of course). No rebuild of the calipers. The prep and painting were the vast majority of the work, but of course that's why it can be done for about $2k.

EDIT - Rears added now

At the end are part numbers for all of the caliper parts to aid you should you take the same route plus other details.

Please enjoy

*REARS*

Nuts & Bolts:

Calipers can come from different Porsche models, so search by part # imo:

Front Left: 996.351.425
Front Right: 996.351.426
Rear Left: 996.352.421
Rear Right: 996.352.422

You remove 5.5mm of material front the front caliper mounting surfaces for use with 345mm CSL rotor or 12mm of material for 325mm rotor. You don't switch the bleeder valves and connector lines.

You don't need to machine the rear calipers, but you do switch the bleeders and lines.

Front 36mm seals - 95135191700 (2 per caliper)
40mm seals - 95135191701 (2 per caliper)
Left crossover line (if yours is corroded or bent) - 99635196100
Right xover line - 99635196200
Damper plates - 99635108802 (2 per caliper)
Front pin kit - 99635195901 (pair for both calipers)
Front pad - 99635294903

Rear seals 28mm - 95135291700 (2 per caliper)
30mm seals - 95135291701 (2 per caliper)
Rear pad pin kit - 996-352-959-01 (pair for both calipers)
Rear pad dampers 28mm - 996-352-086-02
Rear pad dampers 30mm - 996-352-086-00
Left crossover line - 99635296100
Right xover line - 99635296200

Rear pad shape is D738 (standard pad for that caliper) but it doesn't catch our rotor completely OR you can get the front pads from a 2000 boxster 2.7l, D737 shape, to cover the entire rotor. RR brackets will take D737 fully; CM brackets will take D737 on the outside, then you have use the D738 (originals) on the inside.

Cheap bleaders - DORMAN #13906. Cheap caps - refurbish the Brembo ones the calipers come with
Expensive bleeders - 93035191900 (pair - one pair per caliper)
Expensive bleeder caps - 93035192701 (2 per caliper)

High temp brembo decals - ebay

Brackets and lines from Creations Motorsport or Rallyroad (or maybe P0lar, but idk) - picture attached below:

Here's a great post I found on cutters:

To confirm the calipers themselves are part numbers:

Front: 996.351.425.11 & 996.351.426.11
Rear: 996.352.421.13 & 996.352.422.13

Parts for these calipers are as follows:

Dust seals
Front:
2 x 36mm Code: 95135191700
2 x 40mm Code: 95135191701

Rear:

2 x 30mm Code: 95135291701

4 x 40mm Code:105595558

Rear calipers:

Nah it just started out as a joke, but haven't gotten rid of it. Not sure whether I want some sort of mat or pad or reseal the concrete.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. They come on different models too, so I just search by part numbers
Front: 996.351.425 & 426. Rears end 352.421 & 352.422
