This is why I love states like Michigan. Run catless and not have to worry about jack!

Yeah that would be nice. The f'd up part is my buddy leaves about 15 mins from me in a neighboring county and they don't require emissions testing...guess I need to move!

I go in for an inspection and they see that everything is ready, except for catalytic is NOT ready??? O2 sensors are ready but not the catalytic? wtf does that mean lol. Any idea? thanks in advance
Make sure you have the BMW Emissions Recall performed if it applies to your car. Just call your local BMW dealer with your VIN and they will let you know if your M3 is affected by the recall. We've had several customer experience this issue after installing one of our custom section 1 pipes and after the recall was performed - issue gone.

good point! Unfortunately, I've done the emissions recall and still can't get my SAP monitor in the ready state

I think the ticker was idling before and after a the cycle. I searched the internet, and found a document that specified what exactly is being tested for and how to complete the test.

To get the cat monitor in the ready state it's based off steady highway speeds. Ideally you want to do 50-60 mph for 15 minutes without breaking speed or going over 3K RPM.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but google led me here since my car is currently reading that the cats are not ready. Just tried driving 15 minutes between 50-60mph...but this is pretty hard in the middle of the day in LA. Do you need to start with the engine cold?

All other monitors are reading ready.

If you follow it exactly everything will be in ready state.
Yes, it is very hard to find where to do this exactly.
Plan your route...
