Default Catalytic Not Ready

Sup guys, need some help passing emissions.

I have cat delete headers, so i got some 400cell magnaflow cats installed on my section1 about a month ago. Had some issues with the wires but everything is now good. It's been 120 miles since i last erased my codes.

I go in for an inspection and they see that everything is ready, except for catalytic is NOT ready??? O2 sensors are ready but not the catalytic? wtf does that mean lol. Any idea? thanks in advance

follow the drive cycle. mileage isn't the main factor to set the monitors. the dme will only set the monitor during the specific specs that the manufacture set for the drive cycle.

Argh.....this is going to drive me nuts. I've been back to the SMOG place twice already in hopes that this drive cycle requirement has been completed....

Steady speed is key when driving. Cold start and drive it as instructed easiest way. Btw how many "incomplete" monitors do you have? In CA you can have 1 incomplete meaning if you only have to get the catalytic monitor you will not fail the functional portion of the test. Still gotta make sure those cats are good.

This true, I only wish TN was the same was as I have to have all monitors in the ready state. Anyhow, I cleared codes and drove 300 miles (hwy/city) and then went in for the emissions test and secondary air pump and cat monitors were both not in the ready state. I was able to get the cat monitor ready by driving at constant speed (between 50-60 mph) for 15 mins without going over 3K RPM's. This is somewhat difficult to accomplish as having to slow down due to traffic we throw things off. I accomplished this on my way to work (interstate commute of 25 miles) early in the morn (6am). Do this and your cat monitor will become ready.

+1. I piss soo many people off when I am driving to complete monitors on vehicles. 55MPH in California and you get a lotta dumbass drivers tail gating. I always say to myself theres 3 other damn lanes pick one.

i thought you are allowed 2 non-ready codes in NC. you shou've passed. but i am not sure if that relates to Catalytic codes also.

on the other side, my car's cat was in not-ready state ever since the emission recall flash by BMW. that was when car was stock. still passed.
